There are no objectively right or wrong ways to go about measuring football performance. I have pinned a column explaining my Expected Trophies framework to the Jucojames section of the site as a reminder that it is foundational to my thinking. At the base of that framework is the relative wage bill structure within leagues, and on that front, Celtic have spent most of the last decade+ in a hugely dominant positions.
We have been expected to dominate through this heuristic, and by golly, we sure have. The season-to-date has gotten off to a terrific start - dropping only two points in the league, positioned excellently within the Champions League in order to qualify for the knockout stage, and set to compete for the League Cup in less than two weeks.
To try and get a sense of how dominant the dominance has been, I decided to look at some other dominant period. Also, I decided to take a broader look at what is occurring within the league.
